DART – Device to Acess Remote Target
Remote Simulators:
- Provision of individually configurable simulator VMs based on Joomo hardware
- Testing of daily updated HMI builds (simulators) without lengthy download times
- All functionalities available remotely, including tools window
- Ideal for comparing different software versions
Infotainment prototypes consisting of a central computer, display and other control units are made available via the Internet and are therefore accessible worldwide to all stakeholders such as developers, testers, managers and suppliers.
This means that a limited number of expensive, handmade devices can be used efficiently by the entire team via a central website.
Global access and AI-supported, automated tests significantly reduce hardware downtimes. At the same time, costs are reduced as less hardware is required, logistics costs are eliminated and human resources are spared through automation.
The close integration of testing and development enables shorter development times and, thanks to more real test cases and authentic environmental conditions, leads to a higher level of software maturity and therefore to a noticeable improvement in product quality and the customer experience.
Structure
Two basic types of remote target with different functional scope
Remote Target Light
Remote Target
Central component: Joomo frame grabber for live access to the current display content
existing infotainment prototypes are made accessible remotely using Joomo-specific software and hardware and made available to stakeholders via a central website
Operation via a dedicated web interface with no differences to local use
All hardkeys and functions are available remotely (press, long-press, drag and drop)
Features:
- Remote control of prototype power supply, start/stop switch (terminal 15) and other signals possible
- Optional Android phone simulation for connectivity and Bluetooth tests
- Hardkeys implemented in software (can therefore be used generically for all device generations)
- Remote software updates (individual or based on a device-specific preselection) → also directly from the CloudBuilder (dovetailing of testing and development)
- Integration of proven development and test tools such as adb via port forwarding (worldwide, direct access to the built-in head unit via the Joomo web interface)
- Audio recording (optional)
- Intuitive display of the system status
- optional USB switch for realistic software updates or connectivity tests (up to 6 connections)
- versatile tools for recording CAN sequences, creating screenshots or tickets
- Individual extensions on request
- effective collaboration between the various stakeholders through joint test sessions

FRAMEGRABBER
- Live access to infotainment screen content
- Versatile interfaces
- Extended operating and control options
- Flexible application options
- Comprehensive error analysis & integration
The system enables live access to the screen content of the infotainment system by tapping the LVDS stream between the head unit and display – ideal for remote testing, AI-supported analyses and status meetings.
Despite the tapping, the full range of functions including touch operation is retained.
Control, simulation and data recording can be flexibly implemented via various interfaces such as 3× CAN FD, 2× USB and Gigabit LAN.
A web interface and a REST API allow simple configuration and integration into existing test environments.
Thanks to the compact setup, the tool can be used both stationary and mobile in test vehicles.
Functions such as screenshot, video and trace recording as well as the integration of ticket systems are available for error analysis – individual extensions are possible on request.

DART – HMI ED
AI-supported solution, specially developed for automated troubleshooting in infotainment software for pre-checking all screenshots as a comparison to the predecessor. Thanks to state-of-the-art AI algorithms, it identifies software errors in HMI systems with an accuracy that far surpasses manual processes.
This means fewer overlooked errors and a significantly better end product
Test the software used worldwide under real conditions on prototypes or end devices (taking into account country-specific aspects – geodata, radio, mobile communication, etc.).
> 95% error detection rate
-70% reduction in ticket creation time
-30% reduction in queries for troubleshooting
-60% of manual effort and associated costs, as small changes in animations, times or dispatch lists are accepted directly.
Technical details:
Several infotainment systems from different vehicles can be viewed simultaneously.
An optional webcam in the vehicle makes it possible to see the driver’s perspective from a distance.
The integration of communication software allows the driver and tester to talk to each other.
Possibility to record the captured display images in a video file.
Recording in various scales is possible (e.g. input 2240×1260 to output 1120×630).
